ELK GROVE, Calif. – The Omaha men's golf team is in 14th place after the first two rounds of play at the Sacramento State Invitational.

The Mavericks had a team score of 621 after the first two rounds at the Valley Hi Country Club.  Host Sacramento State leads with a score of 574.  Pacific is second at 581, and Chico State is third at 585.

Karl Krieser led the Mavericks on the first day with scores of 72 and 77 for a total of 149 that puts him in a tie for 21st.  That put him ahead of Alex Holtan who was second for the Mavs and in a tie for 49th with scores of 80 and 73 for a total score of 153.

Brandon Sletmoen fired back-to-back rounds of 79 to sit at 158, good for a tie for 78th while Taylor Sidzyik shot 81-80-161 to sit in a tie for 86.

Phillip Baumberger finished the scoring for the Mavericks with a score of 168 that included rounds of 85 and 83.  He's in a tie for 99th.

The final round begins just after 9:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
