WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The Omaha men's golf team took ninth place at the Zach Johnson Invitational hosted by Drake on Tuesday.
The Mavericks put up a team score of 307 in the final round to finish at 918. Northern Iowa won with a score of 874. Bradley was second at 881, and Oral Roberts finished third, one stroke back.
Mitch Ryan was UNO's top scorer and finished 17th overall with a total of 224 including a round of 79 on Tuesday.
Ben Maskus tied for 27th overall at 230 and shot UNO's best final round at 75.
Sam Musch tied for 45th place with a score of 237 over three rounds at Glen Oaks Country Club. He carded a score of 77 in round three.
Miles Russell and
Kevin Gordon were one stroke back at 238 to finish in a tie for 47th. Russell posted a 75 on Tuesday while Gordon shot 79.
The Mavericks have two weeks off before finishing the fall season at the ODU/Outerbanks Invitational hosted by Old Dominion on Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 25-27.
