POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Omaha men's golf team is tied for 16th after the first day of play at the ODU/Outerbanks Invitational hosted by Old Dominion.
The Mavericks shot a four-player team score of 302, tying them with Saint Joseph of Pennsylvania and Hartford. Campbell leads the 18-team field with a score of 267.while Akron and ODU are tied for second at 278.
Mitch Ryan and
Kevin Gordon led the Mavericks on day one with matching scores of 74, two over par. They are part of a 12-way tie for 49th.
Miles Russell was two strokes back at 76, putting him in a tie for 67th, while
Ben Maskus and
Sam Musch were in a tie for 80th with first-round scores of 78.
The second round begins on Monday at 7 a.m. CT at Kilmaric Golf Course.
