NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team is in a tie for fourth place after the first two rounds of the UNO Invitational, their own tournament being held at ArborLinks.
The Mavericks shot 600 as a team through the first 36 holes of the tournament, putting them in a tie with Indian Hills Community College. Weber State leads with a score of 595, one stroke ahead of North Dakota State. Oral Roberts is third at 599.
Karl Krieser led the Mavericks on day one with rounds of 71 and 72 to put him at one-under-par 141, good for second overall.
Phillip Baumberger is second for UNO and tied for 13th at 151, a score that included rounds of 76 and 75.
Taylor Sidzyik and
Alex Holtan are tied for third for the Mavs and for 33rd overall with matching scores of 155. Sidzyik went 79-76 over the first two rounds while Holtan shot 75-80.
Brandon Sletmoen was fifth on the team and tied for 43rd overall at 81-76-157.
Ryan Mayer (158/47th),
Caleb Haight (162/T-52nd),
Lucas Gervais (167/T-60th) and
Ryan Milks (167/T-60th) all played as individuals.
The final round will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
