Box Score FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Omaha women's soccer team battled cold temperatures and high-altitude as they fell to the College of Charleston, 1-0, at Lagoon Field on the campus of Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. on Friday evening.
Omaha is now 2-4 on the season after the loss. College of Charleston improves to 3-4.
In the 49th minute, the Cougar's Rio Speller-Drews took a shot from the top of the 18-yard box that found the back of the Maverick goal. It would be the only goal Omaha sophomore Haley Shelton would allow on the day.
Shelton would finish with four saves as the Mavericks led in shots, 13-8. Chelsi Rohloff led the team with four shots. Layla Ashouri and Lydia Holtmann each had two shots.
Omaha returns to action on Sunday, September 14 against Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. at 1 p.m. (CT). The next home game for the Mavericks is on Sunday, September 21 against Creighton at 4 p.m.
