Tulsa, Okla. - The Omaha men's tennis team fell to Oral Roberts on Friday afternoon, 6-0. The Mavs are now 4-6 overall, and 1-1 in the Summit League.
One singles match and one doubles match did not finish due to Omaha needing to travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to play Arkansas Friday night. Adam Dockery and Eric McKnight were trailing Jack Busby and Jason Mechali 4-3, before the match ended with the Golden Eagles having already secured the point with wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles matches.
Tyler Mercier was unable to complete his No. 1 singles match as he won the first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 4-6. He was trailing the third set 1-2 when the match was called due to ORU having won the match and Omaha needing to travel.
Of the matches that did finish, Oral Roberts won them in straight sets. Dockery fell to Amar Saletovic, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2, and McKnight fell to Busby, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3. Parker Allen was able to defeat James McManus at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3, while Erik Anderson fell to Allen at No. 5, 6-2, 6-3. In No. 6 singles, Nathan Greteman was defeated by Cole Guy, 6-1, 6-3.
The Mavs have two more matches on the day, as Omaha will play at Arkansas twice starting at 7 p.m. With the matches being played late into the night, results will not be available until tomorrow morning. Be sure to check back tomorrow morning at omavs.com for full results.
