FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Sami Spenner won the 60 meter hurdles and triple jump to help lead the Omaha track and field team to a third place finish at the Summit League Indoor Championships.

The Mavericks ended the meet with 109 points, finishing behind multiple time defending champs North Dakota State (233), and South Dakota (142.33). After finishing first with a time of 8.78 in yesterday's qualifying heat, Spenner won the 60 meter hurdles finals with a time of 8.77. She then won the triple jump with a leap of 41-05 while teammate Denneil Shaw finished in third with a jump of 38-04 ¾.

Spenner, who accounted for 50 of Omaha's 109 points, also set a new PR in the 60 meter dash finals with a time of 7.51, finishing second. She also took third in the 200 meter dash (24.58) and high jump (5-07 ¾). 

Katarina Zarudnaya finished fourth in the mile with a time of 4:58.19, and Catherine Davison set a new PR in the event with a time of 5:23.07.

Other notable finishes included: Kathie Lee-Laidley was fourth in both the high jump and 60 meter hurdles with marks of 5-07 ¾, and 9.06, respectively. Payton Horacek set a new PR in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.00 (8), and Amanda Conlin finished just outside of the top eight in the shot put with a throw of 42-00 3/4 (9).

The Mavericks will now have three weeks off before the start of the outdoor season at the Tulsa Duals in Tulsa, Okla.
