GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The UNO men's tennis team fell to North Dakota, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Center Court Fitness Center. The loss leaves the Mavericks with a 2-3 record, while North Dakota improves to 2-3.
The Mavericks won the first doubles match at No. 1 doubles with Adam Dockery and Eric McKnight defeating Josh Oothoudt and Grant Bakke 8-4. At No. 2 doubles, Nathan Greteman and James McManus fell to Duston Britton and Ryan McGuigan 8-2 before North Dakota secured the point at No. 3 doubles with an 8-2 victory over Michael Knudsen and Erik Anderson.
UNO's two points came from the victories of Anderson at No. 4 singles and McManus at No. 3 singles. Anderson was able to defeat Grant Bakke, 6-1, 6-1, before McManus secured a second point for Omaha with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Dustin Britton.
The Mavericks return home on Sunday, March 2nd for an 11 a.m. match against Oral Roberts at the Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
