POWELLS POINT, N.C. – The Omaha men's golf team took 13th place at the ODU/Outerbanks Invitational on Tuesday, its final round of the fall season.
The Mavericks finished with a 54-hole team score of 905 at the Kilmarlic Golf Course. James Madison won the event with a score of 858, four strokes clear of second place Hartford. Maryland was third at 869.
Karl Krieser led the Mavericks in scoring for the tournament with a total score of 223 to tie for 36th overall. He carded a score of 75 in round three.
Fellow senior
Taylor Sidzyik also shot 75 on the final day to finish at 225, good for a tie for 43rd in the field of 84 golfers from 16 schools.
Alex Holtan was UNO's other senior competing in the event. He shot 74 in round three to finish at 229, putting him in a tie for 53rd.
Phillip Baumberger had the Mavericks' low round of the day at one-over 72 to finish the tournament at 230, good for a tie for 58th.
Brandon Sletmoen finished the scoring for the Mavs, firing a round of 75 that gave him a total score of 239 to put him in a tie for 73rd.
The Mavericks will resume play in February at Nichols State.
