Box Score OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO men's tennis team dropped a 4-1 match to South Dakota State on Saturday at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
The Mavericks are now 5-14 overall and 0-5 in The Summit League. The Jackrabbits are 9-10 with a 2-1 conference record.
The Jackrabbits took the doubles point by winning the Nos. 2 and 3 matches. The No. 1 doubles match featuring UNO's
Conner Tieszen and
Matt Frost became irrelevant to the team score after the other two matches completed, but it was tied 8-8 when it finished.
The Mavs earned their only point at No. 5 singles with
Carlos Ramos Salazar defeating James Thorp, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. SDSU won No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles in straight sets for their four team points. The No. 4 (
Eric McKnight) and No. 6 (Frost) singles matches went unfinished.
The Mavs host Michigan State on Sunday night at 7 p.m. at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
