OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO men's tennis team dropped a duel with North Dakota, 5-2, on Friday at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
The Mavericks (2-3) won the doubles point for the early lead, but North Dakota took five of six singles matches to secure the win.
Matt Frost and
Connor Larson started things off right for the Mavs with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles, and after UND took the No. 1 doubles match, the Mavs got the decisive point when
Eric McKnight and
Erik Anderson won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles to lock up the point for the Mavs.
In singles play, only UNO's No. 1
Conner Tieszen was victorious, defeating Ryan McGuigan 6-4, 6-7, 10-6. The other five Mavs were beaten in straight sets.
The Mavericks resume their season on March 9 against Oral Roberts at Hanscom Brandeis Tennis Center.
