Box Score Final Stats

OMAHA, Neb.
- The UNO women's soccer team fell to Creighton 4-1 on a windy Friday night before 645 fans at the UNO Soccer Field.

The Bluejays scored two goals in a six-minute span midway through the second half to turn a 1-1 game into a 3-1 lead. Creighton improved to 2-4-1 with the win. The Mavs fell to 0-6.

Creighton's Brittany Neumann scored the only goal of the first half with 5:21remaining before halftime. Jill Richgels played in a free kick from the left side of the field and the ball bounced around in the box to the feet of Neumann, who shot from 18 yards out on the right side of the box past UNO goalie Meaghan Clark.

Creighton held a 6-3 shot advantage in the first half with a 3-1 edge on goal. The Mavs had excellent scoring opportunities in the first half but were a step away from connecting on a few dangerous centering passes.

UNO tied the game at the 58:45 mark after a mad scramble in the box off of a corner kick. Jordyn Braun headed Hannah Wampler's corner off the left post, and the ball bounced around inside the six-yard box back to Braun, who headed it to the feet of Danielle Archuleta. Archuleta poked it home to tie the game 1-1. It was her third goal in as many games. The goal came after UNO had controlled most of the possession since the halftime break.

But Creighton answered with two goals in the next six minutes to take control of the match. At 60:03, Maddie Nelson gathered a corner kick near the penalty spot and fired home to make it 2-1. At 64:10, Neumann took a clearance near the midfield line and went on a 40-yard breakaway, finishing to the left side of the net past Clark to make it 3-1.

The scoring continued for Creighton at 76:28, as Madelyn Buckner headed a Gabriela Guillen free kick just inside the left post for a 4-1 lead.

Omaha outshot Creighton 11-10 for the game with Creighton holding a 6-4 edge in shots on goal.

The Mavs are at Drake on Sunday at 1 p.m.
