Box Score Box Score

LARAMIE, Wy.
- The UNO women's soccer team scored two goals in the final 10 minutes, but it wasn't enough to rally from the four-goal deficit the Mavericks fell in to, as Wyoming defeated the Mavs 4-2 on Friday evening.

Wyoming improved to 4-1 this season, while UNO dropped to 0-4. The two goals were the most scored by the Mavs so far this season, but the four allowed matched the most this season.

The Cowgirls staked the early lead at the 7:27 mark when Lucie McDowell got behind the defense and tapped in a cross from Sara Paul. Wyoming made it 2-0 in the 29th minute when Olivia Mohtadi took a pass from Paul and scored on a breakaway past UNO keeper Meaghan Clark.

Sheree Small notched the Cowgirls' third goal in the 65th minute, heading in a free kick from Loren Mahoney. Mara Cosgrove made it 4-0 in the 70th minute, scrambling home a goal in front of the net following a corner kick.

With just under 10 minutes to play, Jordyn Braun scored her first goal of the season after a corner kick from Anna Sibson to cut the score to 4-1. Danielle Archuleta added her first goal of the season on a breakaway in the 86th minute to make it 4-2.

Wyoming outshot UNO 13-4 overall and 10-3 in shots on goal. Clark made six saves for the Mavs. Anna Sibson had the Mavs' other shot on goal.

UNO plays at Northern Colorado on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.
