OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO men's tennis team was defeated by Creighton on Thursday, 7-0, at the Hanscom Indoor Tennis Center. The Mavs fell to 5-9 this season, while Creighton now stands at 9-7.
Creighton won all three doubles matches to begin the match. Kyle Obermeier and J.T. Christian defeated Carlos Ramos Salazar and Peter Greteman 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Ryan Norman and Sean Mathison beat Connor Larson and Anthony Forcucci 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, and Billy Paluch and Gabe Nagy defeated Nathan Greteman and Ben Williams 8-4 at No. 3.
Paluch beat Ramos Salazar 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Christian beat Forcucci 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2. In the No. 3 spot, Obermeier beat Larson 6-1, 6-4, and Mathison beat Peter Greteman 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4. Nagy beat Williams 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, and Joe Nora defeated Nathan Greteman 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 in the closest match of the day.
The Mavs play next on Monday at Western Illinois at 4 p.m.
