OMAHA, Neb. – The Mavericks notched their second win of the season with a 9-0 shutout of Augustana on Sunday afternoon at Hanscom Park Tennis Center. The Vikings meanwhile, fell to 0-1 on the young season.

The Mavs enjoyed a comfortable afternoon as the No. 1 doubles team comprised of Chase Peterson and Drew Mercier defeated Augustana's pair 8-5. Jon McQuistan and Eric McKnight also saw success on the court as they won 8-4 in the No. 2 doubles match.

Singles results proved to be no different as the Mavs made it easy. In the closest competition of the afternoon, Andrew Lescelius staged a comeback to win, 4-6, 6-3 (11-9). Junior Drew Mercier of Lincoln, Neb., also won, 6-2, 6-1. Eric McKnight improved to an impressive 4-1 on the season with a victory over Dillon Karras of Augustana, 6-1, 6-3.

The Mavericks are back in action on February 26 when they host Doane College at 6 p.m.
