OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks shot 55 percent from the field and had a big night from #
Tyler Bullock# in an 83-59 win over Pittsburg State Wednesday at Sapp Fieldhouse.
Nebraska-Omaha wrapped up the first half of the MIAA season at 14-3 overall and 7-3 in the MIAA, staying in a tie for third place. The Gorillas fell to 7-10 and 1-9 in the league.
Bullock was 8 for 12 from the field and he had five steals. It was his seventh 20-point performance this year and UNO improved to 7-0 when he reaches that mark.

Andrew Bridger added 13 points with a 4-of-6 performance from the field and Torrian Harris# came off the bench to score 12 points.

Eugene Bain led UNO with eight rebounds and Jamel LeBranch# had five assists to lead the Mavs in that category.
The Gorillas built an 18-10 lead in the first seven minutes and then a 12-0 run for the Mavs erased that and gave them the lead for good. Bridger scored six points in that run. Two free throws by Bullock ended the run and put UNO up by four, 22-18 at the 8:37 mark.
An 11-0 run later in the half put the Mavs up by 13 and then UNO used a 4-0 run to close the half and lead 46-31 in the locker room.
The Gorillas shot just 31 percent in the second half and never got within single digits.
UNO shot 56 percent in the first half and 54 percent in the second half to finish 55 percent. The Mavs shot 36 percent from behind the 3-point line and 68 percent from the free throw line.
The Gorillas ended the game shooting 36 percent from the field and just 5 of 13 (39 percent) from the free throw line.
Rodney Grace led PSU with 17 points and Spencer Magana had 12.
The Mavericks will return to action Saturday in a 7:30 p.m. game at Washburn.
