Was a three-year letter winner at Lincoln High School...during his senior year had a 45% three-point shooting percentage for the Links who advanced to the state quarterfinals...made the state semifinals as a junior...was also a four-year letter winner in baseball...was a member of the Athletic Roll of Honor after finishing second in his class of 405...was a member of the Nebraska Bison All-Star team for three years and played in the Nebraska vs. Kansas All-Star Game and the Nebraska Coaches All-Star Game.
