OMAHA, Neb. - Nebraska-Omaha and Missouri Southern alternated wins in the first four sets and then the Lions took the fifth and deciding set for a 3-2 win Wednesday night at Sapp Fieldhouse.
The 16th-ranked Mavericks dropped their third straight five-set match and fell to 17-7 and 7-4 in the MIAA while the Lions improved to 11-14 and 4-7 in the league with the 17-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-16, 16-14 win.
The Mavericks hit .355 in the opening set and won by eight points. MSSU turned around and hit .275 in the second set to tie the match. The two teams then swapped 25-16 wins to force the fifth set.
The fifth set was tied at every possible point from one to 14. After seven lead changes, the Lions went up at 15-14 and then won the match on a service ace.
Three Mavericks reached double figures in scoring with #
Sara Kampschnieder getting15 and adding 16 digs for a double-double. Kelli Goeser and Lizzy Mach# each had 10 kills.

Angie Reicks added 15 digs and Natalie Ebke had 10. Emily Myers# had 44 assists.
The Mavericks blocked nine MSSU attacks with #
Brittany Hanssen and Ellen Thommes# leading with four each.
Renee Rheinecker led the Lions with 21 kills.
UNO out-hit MSSU, .234 to .195 and had two more kills than the Lions with 57. The Mavericks had seven service aces but committed 13 service errors.
The Mavericks will continue action Friday at 7 p.m. at Pittsburg State.
