SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The UNO men's basketball team dropped its final game of the River City Classic, losing to Southeastern Oklahoma State 81-80 in overtime on Sunday afternoon. The Mavericks finished the tournament at 1-1 and are now 8-2 on the season.
J.R. Moody's three-pointer with 10 seconds left was the difference as Southeastern Oklahoma State rallied for the win. William Slones led the way for the Savage Storm with 29 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks.
Five Mavericks scored in double figures led by #
Justin Petersen and Michael Jenkins# who had 16 points each. Petersen also led the Mavs with 12 rebounds. UNO led by five points with 1:20 left in regulation, but Slones' tip-in with two seconds left sent the game into overtime.
The Mavericks return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 31 when they visit Emporia State at 7:30 p.m.
