Biography

2001-02 Season (Junior):
Tied a career high with 28 points (22 first half) at St. Cloud State, hitting 10 of 12 shots and 6-6 on three-pointers...switched to off-guard from point guard and came off the bench in all but one game during the season...moved into No. 21 in career scoring with 1010 points...stands 2nd in career three-pointers with 134 and 7th in career steals with 135 and 16th in career assists with 207...named to NCC All-Academic team for 2002...was an honorable mention on the all-NCC playing team...became the first junior to score 1,000 points at UNO since Dean Thompson in 1983.

2000-01 Season (Sophomore):
Was an all-NCC honorable mention...scored in double figures in all but three games last year, including six 20-point-plus performances...scored 24, 25 and 28 points in successive games in NCC play early in the season...his 28-point game vs. South Dakota was a career high...had one double-double, a 17-point and career-high12-rebound outing in a home win over Wayne State...led team in scoring with a 15.8 average and was fourth in scoring in the NCC with a 16.7 average...was fourth in steals (1.78) and sixth in three-pointers (2.17 per game) in the league...named to NCC all-academic team with a 3.457 cumulative GPA in mangement information systems...currently is 11th in school career three-point field goals and 17th in career steals...had a career high of eight assists against St. Cloud State.

1999-2000 Season (Freshman):
Competed in 28 games, finishing the final nine games as the starting point guard...averaged 8.1 points a game and dished out 51 assists...shot 46.9 percent from the field and an impressive NCC-leading 48.4 percent from behind the three-point arc...also shot well from the free throw line, hitting 78.2 percent...scored a career-high 23 points shooting 8-of-9 from the field and a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the three-point arc against South Dakota State on 1-21-00...recorded 10 double-digit scoring games.

High School:
A 1999 graduate of Farmington (Ill.) High School...set the school record for career points, assists and steals...also set the school mark for points in a game when he scored 35 in his senior season...as a senior, he averaged 21.9 points (702 points), 5.9 assists (156 assists), 4.0 steals (105 steals) and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 52.8 percent from the field, 50 percent from behind the three-point arc, and 77.8 percent from the free throw line...in his final season, he was named Player of the Year by three seperate publications and was also named to the all-state first-team selected by the Chicago Sun Times and the all-state second-team selected by the Associated Press...as a junior, he averaged 16.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds a game, leading his squad to a 33-1 record and a third-place finish in the Class-A Tournament...as a junior he earned first-team all-state honors from by the Chicago Sun Times and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association...in his final two seasons, his squad finished with a combined 62-4 record...he set the school record for assists and points scored in a career...earned four letters in baseball and was named all-conference.

Full name is Seth William Nelson...parents are Scott and Marcia Nelson...a Computer Science major at UNO...father played basketball for Trinity College.
