Made 19 appearances including 10 starts in the outfield... Made two appearances on the mound totaling 0.2 innings, allowing one hit and no earned runs... First hit was a home run at San Jose State (Feb. 19), in the season opener... Averaged .217 with six runs on 10 hits including two doubles... Went 3-6 at Kansas (Apr. 12), scoring a run on a double and totaling two RBI.

 Made five appearances out of the bullpen and played in 17 games as a position player... Registered a 4.50 ERA in 10.0 innings pitched, giving up five earned runs and striking out 11.  

As a Junior (2020) 
Ranked by D1Baseball as the Big Ten's Preseason No. 33 MLB Draft prospect... Played in fourteen games including ten starts for the Gophers... Slashed .156/.182/.188 with one double, four runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base over 32 at bats. 

As a Sophomore (2019)  
Played in 41 games including 26 starts... Batted .281/.366/.393 with one home run, three doubles, 13 RBIs, and 14 runs scored... Academic All-Big Ten Selection. 

As a Freshman (2018) 
Academic All-Big Ten... Selected as Phil Isaksson Teammate of the Year by the Gophers... Appeared in 10 games including one start during his rookie campaign... Batted .333 with one double and three runs scored... Redshirt selection in 2017. 

Marshall High School 
Graduated from Marshall High School in 2016... Was named the Big South Conference Player of the Year his junior season... Was named all-state, all-conference and all-section multiple times... Set a single-season school record with a .467 batting average his junior year... Was also a NLI for the Gopher football team. 

PERSONAL 
Son of Chris and Mary Jo Hmielewski... Has one brother, Matt and one sister, Ashtin... Uncle, Jim Hmielewski, was a Third-Team All-American tackle at Kansas State and was a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
