Played American Legion baseball all four years of high school for Coach Dave Ploof at Post 22...earned first-team all-state recognition in each of his final two seasons of American Legion ball, finishing his career with a program-record .451 batting average...garnered all-state recognition as a shortstop in 2004, batting .434 with 12 doubles, six triples and 51 RBIs in 74 games...swiped 26 bases on 29 tries...broke a program record in 2003 with a .496 average, shattering the previous mark of .488 which stood since 1975...also added three homers, 82 RBIs, 76 runs, 22 doubles and 10 triples in 82 contests...helped his team to a third-place finish at the 2002 American Legion World Series, as he hit .412 during his sophomore campaign...played football for one season at Central, earning honorable-mention all-conference honors during his junior season.
