As a freshman in 2007-08: Competed in the long jump during the indoor season and had a personal best of 15-4 3/4 in the South Dakota meet, finishing ninth...during the outdoor season she set a season-best of 15-04 1/2 in the long jump at the Long Beach State meet.

High School: Placed fifth at the 2007 Iowa State Track and Field Championships in the long jump...finished seventh as a junior in 2006...was a four year selection to the all-conference teams for track, cross country and basketball...coached by Rich Gander...member of the 400 pound club for weightlifting.

Personal: Born April 14, 1989 in Hampton, Iowa...daughter of Jon and Robin Schmidt...has a brother, Graydon, and a sister, Avery...hopes to become a graphic artist and get into advertising...studying studio art.
