A three-year high school starter, he earned second-team Iowa Class 2-A all-state honors as a senior as 26-1 Garner-Hayfield, the No. 1 ranked 2-A team in the state, lost its only game in the state tournament final...averaged 12.7 points and 7.1 rebounds, blocked 64 shots and shot 67.1 percent from the field as a senior...finished his career with 900 points and blocked at least one shot in 85 of his 95 career games...also lettered in track.
