PULLMAN, Wash. - Omaha Volleyball swept Central Michigan in a neutral-site match on Saturday afternoon.
The Mavericks won their three sets 25-20, 25-18, 25-23 to wrap up their trip to the Pacific Northwest. Omaha never trailed in the first two sets, and the lead only changed three times in the third set.
Omaha tallied 46 kills compared to the Chippewa's (0-2) 27 and an attack percentage of 38.0% to CMU's 15.4%.
Freshman middle blocker
Dara Obeid (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) tallied 11 kills with only one error in her second match for the Mavericks. Sophomore outside hitter
Faith Venable (Lincoln, Neb.) was right behind her with 10 kills.
Obeid also led the team in blocks with five assisted out of the team's six total blocks.
The Mavericks are at home next week to host a tournament of their own. Labor Day weekend will open against Western Michigan on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. CT and continue with Louisiana Tech on Friday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. CT.
