NORMAN, Okla. – Omaha women's soccer moved to 2-3-2 on the young season Sunday as the Mavericks continued non-conference play at No. 19 Oklahoma, falling to the Sooners by a 5-1 tally at John Crain Field.
- No. 19 Oklahoma raced to a 3-0 start, opening the scoring in the fourth minute with a goal from Lexi Dendis, assisted by Hadley Murrell. Three minutes later, Naomi Clark extended the Sooners lead to two, followed by a third goal in the 11th minute from Murrell.
- Senior Charlotte Huggard (Plymouth, Mich.) made her third appearance in net for Omaha this season, shutting down the Sooners in the 14th minute with a phenomenal save, diving to her right, stopping a shot by Kayla Keefer.
- Huggard stood tall, making three key saves during her third match of the 2025 campaign.
- In the 25th minute, Keefer launched the ball into the lower left corner to give Oklahoma their fourth goal of the contest.
- Graduate forward Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) led the Mavericks with two shots, nearly putting the Mavs on the board in the 32nd minute with an attempt off the top of the crossbar.
- With two minutes remaining in the match, sophomore defender Isabelle Milne (Barrie, Ontario, Canada) got Tim Walters' side on the board, placing her second goal of the season.
- Omaha's defense limited the Sooners to just one goal in the second half, which came off a penalty kick opportunity.
Omaha returns to the River City for the Dodge Street Derby against Creighton on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Morrison Stadium with kickoff set for 5 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
