The Mavs (1-0) took the first set 25-16. The second set proved to be more of a battle with a score of 25-20. The third and final set closed out the match with a 25-18 for a win over Milwaukee (0-1).

Once Omaha held the lead in the first and third set, it did not waver. The second set saw more back-and-forth with nine tie scores and two lead changes.

On the defensive end, the Mavs tallied eight total team blocks to Milwaukee's five. Junior Emily Huss was credited with Omaha's only solo block of the evening. Sophomore Celia Spilker and Venable held down the front line with Spilker credited with five partial blocks and Venable with four.
