EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Omaha women's soccer (2-0-1, 0-0-0 Summit) garnered its second win of the 2025 campaign Thursday in Edwardsville, Ill. with the Mavericks grinding out a 2-1 victory at SIUE.
- 23 minutes into the Mavericks' third match of the 2025 season, graduate student forward Payten Ivins (West Haven, Utah) slotted in her second goal of the season to give Omaha a 2-1 lead.
- Two minutes later, SIUE leveled the tally after an Omaha own goal.
- Junior goalkeeper Hayley Ogden (Lehi, Utah) made her second big save of the season in the 33rd minute, making the diving stop to keep the match even at one goal-all.
- Omaha regained control in the 61st minute when sophomore forward Charley Kort scored off an assist from Blanche Brethes Vacchiani to put the Mavericks back in front, 2-1.
- Omaha controlled possession throughout, finishing with 15 shots and limiting the Cougars to just two shots-on-goal.
Omaha women's soccer continues the road trip on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. CT when the Mavericks face Lindenwood on ESPN+.
