OMAHA, Neb. - Coming off a 10-win campaign a season ago, Omaha women's soccer kicks off the 26th season in program history Thursday as the Mavericks welcome Northern Colorado to Caniglia Field at 7 p.m. CT. Opening weekend continues with Green Bay visiting the Mavs on Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. CT. Both matches will stream live on the Summit League Network.

Throughout her time as a Pioneer, Ivins played in 24 matches over two seasons (2023-24, scoring her first collegiate goal at South Dakota State on Oct. 24, 2024 and recording an assist on Aug. 25, 2024, at Lamar.
Headlining the returners:

Senior forward Alyssa Kellar returns after tying her career high with 15 points in 18 matches last season. She recorded a career-best six goals and three assists during the 2024 campaign.

Also returning is senior forward Lauren Schmidt following a career high of six points, two goals and two assists.

The squad outscored opponents 20-14 last season, averaging 1.11 goals per game while holding foes to less than a goal. Omaha also recorded 158 shots to their opponents' 196, held a 97-65 edge in corner kicks and finished with 25 assists to 12.
Omaha is 5-9 all-time against Northern Colorado, dating to Oct. 24, 1999, and have split their last two meetings. The Mavericks fell 1-0 on the road in 2022 after earning a 1-0 home win in 2021.
Northern Colorado finished the 2024 season 4-14-1 overall and 2-5-1 in Big Sky play and opens 2025 ranked No. 6 in the conference's preseason poll. Graduate goalkeeper Kaya Lindberg, the 2024 Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, returns after making 18 appearances and recording 80 saves last season.
On Sunday, Omaha returns to Caniglia Field to host Green Bay in their second game of the 2025 season and the third meeting in program history. The series is tied 1-1, with the Mavs earning a 1-0 home win in 2018.
Green Bay finished the 2024 season 4-8-5 overall and 2-5-3 in Horizon League play, placing eighth in the conference. Senior forward Senah Hanes enters her third season with the Phoenix after earning her third career Player of the Week honor in 2024. She recorded a hat trick against Cleveland State last season, the 12th in program history.
