ELKHORN, Neb. - Omaha women's golf charged to a third-place team finish at the Stampede at the Creek behind another stellar effort on the final day by junior
Katie Ruge.
The Mavericks played eventual team-winner South Dakota to a single stroke on the final day to overtake Western Illinois for the third-place finish. USD (+50) and North Dakota State (+54) finished ahead of Omaha (+64), who entered the final round 15 shots back of fourth-place finisher WIU (+69). Omaha is the host school for the annual tournament.
Ruge (79-75-72, 226, +10) posted the low score of round three to finish in second behind individual winner Elise Hoven of NDSU (76-74-75, 225, +9). Freshman

Sydney Taake (T15) and junior
Emily Karmazin (T20) all carded their lowest scores of the tournament for Omaha on a clear, windy final day at Indian Creek Golf Course.

The event marked the final home tournament for head coach Victoria Grosso's four seniors:
