Box Score OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks opened up Summit League play with a huge victory today as they got back into the win column with a 5-2 triumph over Oral Roberts.

Omaha is now 5-7 on the season as it gets off to a 1-0 start to conference play. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles slip to 5-10 as they are off to an 0-1 start in the league.

"Today was a solid win, and a great way to start off conference matches," said Head Coach Hunter Clark. "Our doubles was unreal today which was the main focus, and it helped our momentum into singles."

Omaha swept doubles play today thanks to a couple of quick wins. Mikel Garmendia and Ethan Gaubert faced little trouble as they set the tone early with a 5-0 start before surrendering just one point in a 6-1 win. Two minutes later, Christian Trevey and Pavan Uppu had a similarly dominant showing as they came out to a 4-0 lead in their match before shutting the door with a 6-2 win.

With the doubles point secured, Mikhail Korkunov got things starting in the singles round with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Ricardo Filho, before Garmendia followed up with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Jonathan Evans in which he never trailed for even a single point.

Now leading 3-0 on the day, Uppu would come in and clinch the victory after pulling away in the second half of each set in his 6-3, 6-4 win over Ryan Holloway.

Gaubert would secure the fifth-straight point for Omaha after handing Elijah Brewer a 6-4, 6-2 loss.
