TULSA, Okla.- Omaha baseball couldn't overcome a big early inning, falling at Oral Roberts 5-3 Sunday at Chapman Park in Tulsa. The Mavericks (5-16, 0-6) were swept in the three-game Summit League series by the Golden Eagles (15-8, 4-2).

Omaha starter
Maddox Meyer pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, walking one batter. The game was scoreless through three.
Innings 4-6
ORU scored the game's first runs in the fourth on a two-run single by Keaton Campbell, an RBI single by Owen Coil and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Martell Davis. Reliever C.J. Hood was charged with four earned runs in 1/3 of an inning and tagged with the loss (0-4). The Golden Eagles led 4-0 after four.
The Mavs chased ORU starter and eventual winning pitcher Jack Hill (3-1) in the fifth on an RBI single by
Henry Zipay and a sacrifice fly off the bat of
Tyler Bishop, scoring
Sam Beck. Omaha cut the lead to 4-2.
Oral Roberts added a run in the bottom half on Makani Tanaka's home run to take a 5-2 lead.
Innings 7-9
Omaha chipped away with one in the seventh on Bishop's RBI single to left, scoring Beck to make it 5-3.
But the Mavericks couldn't come up with the big hit, leaving 10 on base for the game. They stranded five runners on base over the final three frames, including two runners on with one out in the ninth against ORU's Conner Floyd, credited with his fifth save of the season.
