SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Following a 2-0 performance in singles play last week, Omaha senior Bryan Kuntz picked up the team's first weekly honor of the season after being named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week.

Last week, Omaha began a stretch of four-straight matches against Big East opponents when they hosted Butler and St. John's over the weekend. Taking on Butler's Nicolas Arts, Kuntz cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory over the junior to claim the first point of the day for the Mavericks. Then, on Sunday, he faced Carl Gustavson in one what proved to be one of his closest matches of the season. After taking the first set 7-6 in tiebreakers and dropping the second set 6-4, Kuntz ultimately came out on top with a 7-5 win in the third and final set to go 2-0 on the weekend.

Kuntz and the Mavericks will be back in action this Saturday when they head downtown to play Creighton at 6 p.m.
