VERMILLION, S.D. – Omaha Volleyball senior
Kali Jurgensmeier (Wahoo, Neb.) hit 1,000 kills in the Mavericks' four-set loss to South Dakota on the road Thursday.

The Mavericks (7-14, 4-8) took the first set 25-14, but South Dakota (17-8, 9-4) rallied to win the next three 25-17, 25-17 and 25-21.
Jurgensmeier did not stop with six kills. She continued on to tally 22 for a new career-high. Of the Mavericks' 48 kills, she was credited with 45.8 percent of them. Freshman Lara Marić (Brisbane, Australia) had the next highest tally with eight to tie her career-high.
Junior
