Volleyball to play at South Dakota, host Denver

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Volleyball is back in action after a week off with a trip to South Dakota on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. CT before returning to Omaha to host Denver on Saturday, Nov. 8 at noon.
 
The Mavericks (7-13, 4-7 Summit League) will face South Dakota (16-8, 8-4) on the road. The last time these two teams faced off, the match went to five sets. Omaha has played a five set match against every team from South Dakota it has faced. The Mavs hold a 49-27 record against the Coyotes all-time.
 
After playing the Coyotes, the Mavs will come home to play Denver (15-8, 7-5). The Pioneers lead the series 20-9 all-time. It will mark the last time the Mavericks and Pioneers face off in volleyball before Denver departs the Summit League for the West Coast Conference. Last time the teams met, Denver won 3-1 at home.
 
Senior Kali Jurgensmeier (Wahoo, Neb.) is chasing the 1,000 kill milestone. The outside hitter is just six kills short. So far this season, she has averaged 13.65 kills per match.
