3 Mavericks earn Summit League volleyball honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Three Omaha Volleyball players have earned All-Summit League honors for the 2025 season, the league announced Saturday.

Senior Kali Jurgensmeier (Wahoo, Neb.) was named First Team All-Summit League while junior Emily Huss (Fairbury, Neb.) earned a spot on the second team. Freshman Faith Venable (Lincoln, Neb.) rounds out the group with an All-Freshman Team nod.

Jurgensmeier heads into the Summit League tournament leading the Mavs in kills with 343. Earlier this season, she hit the 1,000 kill milestone despite missing half of her sophomore season with an injury. Jurgensmeier is fourth in the league in kills per set with 3.69 and second in the league in points per set with an average of 4.44.

Huss has proven herself to be a talented blocker in her junior season. For most of the year, she has stood atop the conference rankings with the most assisted blocks (130), most total blocks (147) and the highest average of blocks per set (1.60). Huss is currently fifth in the country in blocks per set and ninth in total blocks.

In her first year with the Mavericks, Venable has made a splash in the Summit League. The freshman has tallied 273 kills and is second on the team in total kills. She is second in the league in kills per set (.49) and sixth in points per set (3.71). Venable is leading the Summit League freshman class in kills per set and points per set.
