She also led her team to a district championship last season. As a junior and sophomore, Brown was a first team all-state and all-conference selection and she was named freshman athlete of the year. Brown played her final club season for Hardwood Elite, based out of Colorado. Heading into her senior season, Brown will embark on a new journey at Starkville.
Head coach Derek Griffin (Hardwood Elite) on Brown:
"I can go on and on about Jade and how awesome she is. She is the biggest and best surprise I've ever coached. She plays hard, is smart and has great versatility. She is going to be an immediate contributor and a valuable piece for Omaha as they bring their program to the top. Jade's ceiling is yet to be determined and
Jamie Carey is going to develop her to be a superstar!"
Head coach Eric Westling (Cheyenne East) on Brown:
"Since I've known Jade, I can honestly say I knew she was going to be a young woman who was going to positively impact wherever she finds herself. She has an infectious personality and leads by example. Jade will absolutely make Omaha Women's Basketball better by being a part of it. She works at and absorbs the game and we can't wait to watch her thrive with her new team."
Carey on Brown:
"In looking at the competitive Summit League, we understand the importance of versatility and being able to defend & rebound at a high level. Signing Jade has provided this and much more to our group. Jade has great length, can make incredible plays at the rim on both ends of the floor, and has the versatility to defend any position. Watching her all summer, what stood out even more than her skill set was her constant work ethic and her desire to be a great teammate. Jade understands the game at a high level and will compete every time she steps onto the floor. We are thrilled to welcome Jade to Omaha Women's Basketball and watch her grow throughout her career."
Halle Dolliver
Dolliver tallied 1,000 points in her first two seasons for the Malcolm Clippers. She is a two-time all-state and all-conference honoree who was named Class C1 First Team All-State by the
Lincoln Journal Star. Through her freshman and sophomore seasons, she averaged 21.3 points per game, shot 48 percent from the field and tallied 9.8 rebounds per game. Dolliver played club basketball for Everything to Gain (ETG) which won the 17U 3SSB Adidas Classic Championship. Dolliver also played volleyball for the Clippers and most recently led them to a third-place finish in the state tournament. Dolliver is the niece of Maverick great Mikaela Shaw (2013-17).
Head coach Andy Markowski (ETG) on Dolliver:
"Omaha is getting a stat-sheet filler. Halle is a competitor who has been a consistent performer throughout her career. Her return from injury in July allowed our ETG group to capture the 3SSB Classic Championship. Her physicality, toughness and ability to impact the game on both ends will translate immediately in college."
Former head coach Andy Klepper (Malcolm) on Dolliver:
"From day one, you could tell Halle was different – not just because of her talent, but because of her work ethic. She never took a day off, never stopped trying to get better. Watching Halle earn this opportunity from Omaha is proof that dedication and character pay off."
Carey on Dolliver:
"Having a player that can fill up the entire line on a stat sheet is invaluable and can be challenging to find. This is exactly what Halle provides to her team. Halle has a great feel for the game, putting her in the right spots to make plays. She can defend, has great athleticism and length, tremendous feel for when to rotate, has a desire & ability to rebound at a high level. Offensively, she can space the floor, is a great passer and understands how to play on and off the ball. A competitor at heart as a multi-sport athlete, we are excited to welcome Halle to Omaha Women's Basketball."
Ani Leu
Leu hit the 1,000 point milestone in her junior season with the Lincoln North Star Gators. She led her team to back-to-back-to-back district championships and back-to-back state tournament wins. Leu was named the Lincoln North Star Girls Athlete of the Year as a junior. She was named first team super state by the
Lincoln Journal Star to become the first girls basketball player in school history to earn that achievement. Through three seasons, Leu has averaged 13.4 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game and 3.5 steals per game. She has made over 370 field goals with the Gators and shot at a 49 percent clip. She holds three school records with 531 rebounds in her career, 256 steals in a career and 103 steals in a season. Leu also played club basketball for ETG where she won a 17u 3SSB Adidas Classic Championship.
Markowski (ETG) on Leu:
"The Mavs are getting a player that has had a tremendous HS career. Ani has played in big games and has made game changing shots. Her versatility stood out this summer as member of ETG. She is able to score at all three levels and her length and rebounding will transition well into college basketball."
Head coach Tommy Johnson (Lincoln North Star) on Leu:
"Ani is someone you can celebrate loudly with, laugh everyday with, but when times get tough she is someone you can lean on through adversity. I can't wait to see how she writes her next chapter at Omaha."
Carey on Leu:
"With a desire to sign perimeter length in combination with a dynamic offensive skill set, we quickly identified Ani as filling that need. Ani is long and is gifted offensively with the ability to score in multiple ways, including stretching the floor along with great feel and touch around the rim. Simply, she is capable of getting a bucket when needed. Ani also provides the ability to defend multiple positions allowing for some creativity on the defensive end. Ani's best basketball is ahead of her, and we cannot wait to welcome her to Omaha Women's Basketball."
Ava Markowski
Markowski joins the Mavs fresh off a district championship and state qualification for the Pius X Thunderbolts. Named second team all-state as a junior and an honorable mention as a sophomore. The same season, Markowski led her team in assists, steals and 3-pointers. She has shot 37 percent through three seasons and tallied 40 made threes in her junior season. In her senior season she tallied 372 kills. She was named to the
Omaha World-Herald 2025 Super Six Volleyball list. Markowski's roots run deep in Nebraska. Her father played basketball for the Huskers (1995-99) and her sister played basketball for Nebraska (2021-25).
Markowski (ETG) on Markowski:
"Coach Carey is getting a team first, versatile guard who adds great leadership to her skill set. Ava shot the three extremely well this summer on the 3SSB circuit. Her pace and willingness to create shots for teammates will fit well into college offense."
Head coach Ryan Psota (Pius X) on Markowski:
"Ava is a multi-sport athlete that is team first focused and committed to being successful and winning games. She is a great shooter, capable driver, and very smart on the defensive end of the floor. Her biggest asset to our team is passing. She constantly finds ways to make others around her better and creates shots for others."
Carey on Markowski:
"When we first started to identify recruits for our 2026 class, we felt it was imperative we sign someone with strong leadership qualities. In Ava, we have found not only a strong leader, but a young lady that understands everything that encompasses winning, along with un unwavering competitive spirit and passion for the game of basketball. She plays with an edge, has an extremely high basketball IQ and has developed a great skill set to match the intangibles. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Ava to Omaha Women's Basketball."
Sydney Terveen
Terveen comes to the Mavericks with a pair of state championships under her belt. As a junior and a sophomore, she led the O'Gorman Knights to back-to-back undefeated seasons. Terveen was named to the all-tournament first team and all-conference team as a junior. During that season, she averaged 17 points per game, five rebounds per game and four assists a night. Terveen also played soccer for the Knights. She led the team to the state championship game where they finished as state runner-up and district champions and she was named all-tournament first team and all-metro.
Head coach Caleb Luckow (Sanford Sports AAU) on Terveen:
"Sydney is the epitome of a winner. Her consistency and hard work is an example that her teammates admire and gather behind. Omaha is getting a great piece in building their foundation and culture!"
Head coach Kent Kolsrud (O'Gorman) on Terveen:
"Sydney is a tremendous competitor who plays her best in big games. She has made huge plays in the past two state championship games helping lead her team to back-to-back championships. She works tremendously hard and is a great leader. Her athleticism, competitive spirit and skill level should be a great asset to the women's basketball team at Omaha."
Carey on Terveen:
"With our 2026 class, we have placed a premium on student-athletes that have won on some level during their high school careers. Sydney has done just that, having won back-to-back basketball state championships at O'Gorman High School in South Dakota and most recently having competed for a high school soccer state championship. Sydney makes winning plays that allows her team to be successful. She can really shoot the basketball, has nice length to defend and rebound and possesses strong leadership qualities as well. We are excited to welcome Sydney to Omaha Women's Basketball."
