OMAHA, Neb. Omaha freshman swimmer
Addisyn Storms (Omaha, Neb.) was named the Summit League's Kwik Star Peak Swimmer of the Week, it was announced Tuesday after collecting four individual victories across the Mavericks' first two meets of the 2025-26 season.
On Friday, Oct. 3, Storms led Omaha to a 217-83 win over South Dakota State
, taking first in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.17) and 200 breaststroke (2:21.19). Against Nebraska, she again captured the 200 breaststroke title (2:21.19).
During Saturday's home opener at H&K, Storms powered the Mavericks to a 167-68 victory over Rockhurst, winning the 200 individual medley (2:09.21) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.40).
In her first two collegiate meets, including a matchup with in-state Big Ten foe Nebraska, Storms recorded the fastest breaststroke times in the Summit League over the opening weekend of competition.
"Addisyn kicked off her college debut on fire. She was clutch against her competition and really went after getting her hand on the wall first," said head coach
Jessica Hessel. "It was great to see her perform without fear and throw down impressive times to start the season. That mentality will take her where she wants to go."
Omaha returns to action Friday, Oct. 10, hosting Iowa Western at the H&K Pool on-campus. The dual begins at 5 p.m. CT.
