OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Soccer (5-7-4, 2-3-1 Summit) returns to action Thursday, Oct. 23 at Caniglia Field in Omaha, Neb. against South Dakota with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT, followed by a matchup against Kansas City on Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. CT for the Mavericks final regular-season match of the 2025 campaign. Both games will be streamed on the Summit League Network.
28 minutes into Omaha's last outing against the Pioneers, Isabella Chidiac connected with Lily O'Grady to give Denver a 1-0 lead off a shot that went into the high left corner of the net.
In the 62nd minute the Pioneers lined up for a corner kick, sending it into the box for Kera Nguyen to knock into the high left corner giving Denver a 2-0 lead.
Omaha answered in the 68th minute when freshman forward Kendall Doberstein (Omaha, Neb.) scored her third goal of the season off a left-foot rocket into the high left corner, which came off a pass from freshman midfielder
Addie LaRock (Omaha, Neb.), for her first assist of the season.
Through 15 fixtures in 2025, 14 different Mavericks have scored.
Omaha will face South Dakota for the 27th time in series history Thursday at Caniglia Field. The Mavericks defeated the Coyotes 1-0 in their last matchup on Oct. 3, 2024.
South Dakota, currently fifth in the Summit League table, enters Thursday's matchup 6-4-6 overall and 2-2-2 in the Summit.
Leading the Coyotes with seven goals this season is redshirt freshman forward Klarissa Vega, while Brooke Conway, Rylee Haldeman, and Vega each have three assists on the season.
On Sunday, the Mavericks are set to compete against Kansas City for the 9th time in series history at Caniglia Field. Prior to the match, the Roos, fourth in the Summit head into their game against South Dakota State on Thursday, Oct. 23 8-6-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the Summit.
Graduate student midfielder Delfina Zolesio Fernandez Blanco leads Kansas City with 11 goals, while junior forward Ashley Koch has a team high of six assists.
Omaha returns home for its final regular season matches at Caniglia Field in Omaha, Neb. on Thursday Oct. 23, facing off against South Dakota at 7 p.m. CT, followed by the regular-season finale on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. CT. Both matches will be streamed live on the Summit League Network.
