SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha Women's golf senior Katie Ruge (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Golfer of the Week for the second time this season, it was revealed Thursday.

Ruge captured her third individual title earlier this week at the Big O Classic, winning the event by seven strokes at 3-under-par with rounds of 68, 77 and 68. Since Ruge joined the Mavericks last season, Omaha has won four team tournament trophies, including the 2025 Big O Classic.

Of note from Ruge's final round scorecard, the senior birdied all but three holes on the first nine to to finish a 5-under 31 heading out to begin the final round, which began from split tees due to weather.

Through 11 rounds of golf in 2025, Ruge is averaging 72.6 strokes and has recorded two top three finishes. The senior is 224-32-6 against the field this season.

Omaha Women's Golf resumes its 2025-26 campaign on Feb. 16, 2026 when the Mavericks take part in the Rivertowne Intercollegiate at Rivertowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
