OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving continued their homestand Friday at H&K Pool, competing against Iowa Western and Saint Mary (Neb.).
Both Maverick squads posted dominant results, as the men earned a 209-79 win over Iowa Western, while the women defeated Iowa Western 234-36 and Saint Mary (Neb.) 235-51.
Junior
Kyle Kulow (Sugar Land, Texas) led the men with three victories, including personal bests in the 100 back (52.66) and 50 back (25.35). On the women's side, sophomore
Ella Drewes (Eden Prairie, Minn.) delivered three wins of her own, highlighted by a personal best in the 100 breast (1:05.58).
Overall, the Mavericks tallied 17 podium finishes on the men's side and 22 for the women.
"It was great to see our team embrace some different events they don't swim as often," said head coach
Jessica Hessel. "We saw some swims that gave us more direction on where to utilize athletes in different events. The support for each other was great all around and we saw a number of best times from many of our athletes."

Omaha returns to action Oct. 17–18 in St. Paul, Minn., competing against St. Thomas at Anderson Pool. The Mavericks will race at 6 p.m. CT Friday and 10 a.m. CT Saturday.
