OMAHA, Neb. - In front of more than 1,200 fans, Omaha volleyball (3-9, 1-0 Summit League) commenced its Summit League regular season title defense Thursday as the Mavericks swept North Dakota (7-5, 0-1 Summit League), 25-20, 25-16, 29-27.
Omaha's offense was on fire in the opening game as the Mavericks hit at a .429 clip with just two attack errors.
McKenna Ruch was a force to be reckoned with, posting four unassisted kills in the three-set thriller.
Ruch led the Mavericks with 14 kills in 20 total attacks to finish her night hitting .650.
In the third set, Omaha and North Dakota traded leads before the Mavericks pulled out the 29-27 clincher. With

Amanda Hardt sealed the deal for Omaha's first conference victory of the campaign.
