OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha volleyball returns home for the first time since Sept. 7 this week as the Mavericks get set to welcome North Dakota (Sept. 26) and St. Thomas (Sept. 28) to Baxter Arena in the first Summit League matches of the season for the reigning regular season and tournament champions. Both matches will be streamed on the Summit League Network. First serve on Thursday, Sept. 26 vs. North Dakota is set for 7 p.m. CT and the action will begin at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 28 vs. St. Thomas.

The Mavericks are coming off a 1-2 week in Kansas where Omaha (2-9, 0-0 Summit League) defeated Northern Colorado in four sets to start-off the Shocker Volleyball Classic before setbacks against Cal Poly and Wichita State. During the festivities in Wichita, senior
Shayla McCormick eclipsed the 1,000-mark in two statistical categories, digs and kills. McCormick became just the 22nd Mavericks to join the 1,000 kill club at Omaha.
Through the team's first 11 contests of the season, Omaha averages 11.5 kills per set and hits at a .171 clip with 79.5 blocks in 46 sets played.
Matt Buttermore's team recorded a season-high 68 kills in a five-set thriller at Wichita State on Sept. 21 and hit at a year-best .277.
Kali Jurgensmeir leads Omaha with 129 kills and
Ivy Leuck boasts 336 assists. McCormick owns 12 service aces this season and a team-high 119 digs.
McKenna Ruch leads the defensive effort at the net with 33.0 blocks.
After this week's conference openers, Omaha hits the road for the first time in league play this season for a road tilt South Dakota on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. CT on the Summit League Network. Omaha returns home on Saturday, Oct. 12, welcoming North Dakota State to Baxter Arena.
