OMAHA, Neb. - Reigning Summit League champion Omaha volleyball commences the 2024 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. CT inside Baxter Arena when the Mavericks take-on (RV) Houston in the Omaha Invite presented by Sarpy County Tourism. The three-day event continues on Saturday, Aug. 31 with Omaha facing Wyoming and concludes on Sunday, Sept. 1 when the Mavs do battle with (RV) Washington State.
The full event schedule is below. All matches will be streamed with neutral site contests airing free-of-charge on OMavs.com, while matches featuring Omaha will air on the Summit League Network.

First Set
Coming off an NCAA tournament appearance last season after winning both the Summit League regular season and tournament crowns, Omaha volleyball returns to the court welcoming back nine letterwinners from 2023's championship squad. Five newcomers -- all first-years -- join
Matt Buttermore's club in 2024.

- Omaha posted a record of 15-14 overall (12-4 Summit) en route to an NCAA tournament bout last season with Kansas
- On Tuesday the Summit League preseason coaches' poll was released and the Mavericks were voted to top the league, followed by Denver.
- The Mavericks crushed it in the classroom as the team was bestowed an AVCA Team Academic Award presented by INTENT for boasting a team GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale

- McKenna Ruch (Gr., MB, 6-2) - All-Summit, tallied 132 blocks, 299 kills, and a .281 attack percentage
- Shayla McCormick (Sr., OH, 5-11) - All-Summit, tallied 288 kills, 2.59 kills/set, 27 service aces, and 314 digs
- Amanda Hardt (So., OH, 6-3) - All-Freshman, tallied 264 kills, 2.59 kills/set, and 67 blocks.
