Omaha, NE – June 26, 2024 – Omaha Athletics is proud to announce its significant achievement in the 2024 Learfield NACDA Directors' Cup standings, securing a spot in the top 20 of Division I-AAA programs nationwide. Coming in at No. 20, this ranking is the highest Omaha Athletics has achieved in the Division I era, reflecting the hard work and dedication of Maverick student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
Omaha's 20th rank this year is a notable leap after last year's 38th rank in the 2022-23 standings. In the overall standings among all 363 Division I schools for this year, Omaha Athletics jumped from 204th to 136th.
"This has been a banner year for Omaha Athletics," Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics Adrian Dowell said. "After advancing to four NCAA Tournaments, five conference championship games and capturing five conference titles, this has been a transformative moment in the history of our institution."
The collective efforts of Maverick teams have positioned Omaha third among Summit League teams. Omaha Athletics scored 125 points.
The NACDA Directors' Cup standings measure overall athletic success by evaluating the performance of each institution across various sports. Omaha's rise in these rankings demonstrates the comprehensive athletic success of the 2023-24 athletic season.
