Mavericks Add Top JUCO Transfer Kamryn Thomas

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha Men's Basketball team has officially announced the addition of junior forward Kamryn Thomas for the 2024-25 season.

Standing at 6'8" and 200 pounds, Thomas, a Chicago native, was a standout at Hutchinson Community College. In his lone year with the program he averaged 16.2 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 47.5% from the field and 43.1% on three-pointers. He ended the 2023-24 season with 533 points, 201 rebounds, 39 blocks, and the fifth most 3-PT FGs made in program history (78).

Thomas led the Blue Dragons to a 29-7 record and a trip to the quarterfinals of the National Junior College Athletics Association Tournament. For his efforts, he was named an NJCAA Third Team All-American. 

Prior to playing at Hutchinson CC, Thomas spent his freshman year at North Idaho College where he shot totaled 204 points and shot 52.7% on field goals and 53.3% from behind the arc.

"Kamryn is a versatile forward that can score at three levels and is a great shooter," noted Head Coach Chris Crutchfield. "I love the fact that he can defend four positions. We are looking forward to Kam joining our family and bringing that Chicago toughness to Omaha."
