The Omaha Mavericks opened the series with a sweep over the South Dakota Coyotes. The Mavericks opened the day with a 3-0 shutout then grabbed a 5-2 win in game two. The Mavericks will finish off the series tomorrow at 11 a.m.
The Mavericks improved to a 30-8 overall record and are now 7-1 in conference play.

How It Happened
• After not recording their first hit until the fifth inning, the game was held at a stalemate until the sixth inning.
• In the top of the sixth,
Sydney Ross singled to left field but advanced to second on the throw. Ross recorded the RBI after driving in
Sydney Thomason from second for the first run of the game.

Lynsey Tucker put the Mavericks up by two in the seventh with a single to center, scoring
Jaelle Johnson.

Maggie O'Brien had an RBI single scoring Tucker for the third and final run.

How It Happened
• The Mavericks wasted no time getting the scoring started in game two.
Alex Olson had the first RBI with a single up the third base line with bases loaded to drive in O'Brien.
• With bases still loaded Johnson was walked on a 3-2 count, scoring in
Ava Rongisch making it 2-0 in the top of the first.
• USD responded in the bottom of the first with a double RBI to make it 2-1.
• Omaha scored again in the top of the sixth after Olson hit an RBI double to right field, driving in Ross.
• Olson made it 4-1 on an unearned run after the catcher was called for interference.
• The Coyotes scored their second in the sixth with a double to right center.
• Johnson recorded another RBI on a walk with a 3-1 count in the top of the seventh.
