Omaha, Neb.- The Omaha Mavericks defeated the Rider Broncos 4-1 and shutout their second opponent during the Connie Claussen Classic.
The Mavericks improve to a 16-7 overall record on the campaign and extend their winning streak to five.

How It Happened
• Omaha got on the board early with two runs in the first.
Sydney Ross hit a two-run double to right-center, sending
Maggie O'Brien and
Ava Rongisch home.
• In the bottom of the fifth
Sydney Thomason came up to bat with two outs. Her hit to left field was dropped allowing
Lynsey Tucker who was already in motion to slide into home, putting Omaha up 3-0.

Sammy Schmidt hit a line drive to the second baseman, but she beat the attempted tag at first. In addition to the single,
Emma Durr advanced home from third to make it a 4-0 game.

Sydney Nuismer entered the top of the seventh looking to notch a no-hitter. It was a quick three up three down inning after she struck out the final two batters.
Game Notes
• Nuismer recorded her seventh win after pitching a complete seven-inning no-hitter. She threw seven strikeouts and only allowed two on base with one walk and one hit by a pitch.
• Ross went 2-of-3 at-bat where she recorded one run and two RBIs. She also had a team-high seven putouts.
