Tempe, AZ- The Omaha Mavericks split opening day beating North Florida 11-6 in game one but falling to James Madison 8-4 in game 2.
The Mavericks improve to an 11-7 overall record on the campaign.
Game One: Omaha 11, North Florida 6
How It Happened
- To open the game
Lynsey Tucker, the leadoff batter, was hit by a pitch. On
Maggie O'Brien's single up the middle, Tucker advanced to second.

Sydney Thomason hit another single up the middle, allowing Tucker to round third and make it home for the Maverick's first run.
- With bases loaded in the top of the first,
Sydney Ross was walked on a 3-1 count, sending O'Brien home for the 2-0 lead.
- North Florida responded in the bottom of the first with a single up the middle to send their runner on second home, making it 2-1.
- In the top of the second,
Ava Rongisch was up to bat with bases loaded. With a 3-2 count, Rongisch hit a grand slam making it a 6-1 game.

Alex Olson hit a home run to center on her first pitch, for the Maverick's seventh run.
- In the top of the fifth, after getting walked
Sammy Schmidt stole second. Olson hit a double to left center, allowing Schmidt to score making it 8-1.
- UNF started to catch up with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it 8-4.
- Olson notched another RBI with a single up the middle to send in Ross.
- North Florida hit a home run in the bottom of the sixth to score two additional runs, making it a close 9-6 game.

Rylan Ewoldt entered the game as a pinch hitter for
Marra Cramer in the top of the fifth. Ewoldt was walked on a 3-2 count but Cramer returned to run once she made it on base.
- As the Mavericks were back at the top of the lineup, Tucker hit a home run to right center, capping the Mavericks score at 11-6.

Game Two: Omaha 4, James Madison 8
How It Happened
- In the top of the second, JMU took the lead with a home run to center, making it 1-0.
- Rongisch responded with her second home run of the day in the bottom of the second to make it 1-1.
- Omaha took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth. O'Brien hit a double to right center, allowing
Olivia Aden to score.
- In the top of the sixth, JMU added four runs. One from a double to right center, three from a home run to right field.
- In the seventh inning, JMU scored two more runs off a home run to left field and a single up the middle to advance the runner.
- Omaha tried to close the four-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh.
Olivia Aden scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-3. Cramer advanced home from third after O'Brien hit a double to left center, making it 8-4.
