Urdahl's Late Goal Lifts Mavericks over RedHawks

Zach Urdahl's goal with 54.7 seconds left in regulation propelled the No. 18 Mavericks to their 17th victory of the campaign, besting the Miami Redhawks 4-3.

Out of a timeout with 68 seconds remaining, the Mavericks won the faceoff and quickly moved the puck up ice to Urdahl. The Maverick winger flew down the right side and rifled home his team-leading third game winning goal of the season. The late lamp lighter was assisted by Nolan Sullivan and Matt Miller.

The Mavericks opened the scoring with 1:31 left in the 1st period when Kirby Proctor blasted home his sixth goal of the season to put Omaha up 1-0. Jimmy Glynn made it 2-0, 5:09 into the 2nd period when he finished a 2-on-1 odd-man rush with a one-timer from Jesse Lansdell. Miami cut the lead in half with a power play goal at 11:28 of the period.

The Mavericks regained a two-goal lead when Brock Bremer tapped in his fourth goal of the season on the doorstep of the Miami cage with 11:01 to play in regulation.

The RedHawks didn't go away easy as they scored a pair of goals in a span of four minutes and some change to even the contest at 3-3 late. It wouldn't be enough as the Mavericks would go on to secure their 13th one-score victory of the season.

Omaha wraps up their regular season road slate in tomorrow night's series finale with Miami. Puck drop slated for 6:05 PM CT.
